The 7 Best Soccer Chants Around the World

We’ve already talked about crowd involvement here on Pokatok by looking into some of the best student section chants in sports but what about at the professional level? Soccer (or football depending on where you are reading this from) features some of the best examples of crowd involvement in all of sports.

Don’t believe us? Just look at some of the incredible chants below.

7. “No One Likes Us” – Millwall

Stolen from Millwall and popularized in the U.S. by Philadelphia, the “No One Likes Us” Chant is perfectly indicative of the villain status acheived by Millwall. Hate them or love them, you have to admit Millwall’s “No One Likes Us” is a hilarious bit of self-awareness.

6. “Blue is the Color” – Chelsea

As a Tottenham fan, I am not a fan of Chelsea and would prefer not to give them their credit. However, there is something special about Chelsea’s anthem. Just listen to the fans sing it at the Champions League Final in the video above.

5. “Ole” – Costa Rica

The “Ole” chant is nothing new in soccer, but the Costa Rican version is my personal favorite with the added “Ticos! Ticos!” at the end.

4. “Viking Clap” – Iceland

Easily the most intimidating “chant” on the list, as the name would suggest – it’s more about the clapping than the chanting. However, there’s a bit of vocalization that goes along with the clap and I think Iceland deserves a spot on this list.

3. “When The Spurs Go Marching In” – Tottenham Hotspur

There was no way I was going to come up with a list of best soccer chants without having my Spurs make the cut. Repurposing the traditional spiritual “When the Saints Go Marching In”, this chant is one of my absolute favoites to join in with as a Tottenham supporter.

2. “Seven Nation Army” – Miscellaneous

If you’ve ever been to a live sporting event – you’ve probably heard fans chant “Seven Nation Army” at some point. It’s catchy, easy to follow along with, and most fans know it. Is it overused? Probably, but that won’t stop me from joining in when the chant gets going at a soccer match.

1. “Glory Glory Man United” – Manchester United

Several clubs have their own version of “Glory, Glory” but none feels quite as iconic as the version sung by supporters of Manchester United. When Old Trafford is full and “Glory, Glory Man United” gets going the sound is deafening. It’s quite the scene.
